It’s been a while since I discuss about the book, “Multiple Stream of Inspiration”. Let’s move on to Chapter 3 written by Israel Ukoko from England titled, “Everything Is Possible”. Before I move on, here is the picture of Israel Ukoko on the right.
In this chapter, Israel told a story about young boy Michael who lived in an army barrack with his parents in a big city in western Africa. His family is very poor.
Sharing a border with the barrack, there was this pretigious golf course which has attracted many rich & wealthy people playing golf with each other. As a securiy measures, the golf course was protected by a high concrete fence which prevented Michael from viewing the events in the other side.
He decided to climb up a huge almond tree to counter his problem. He would do the same thing everyday to watch the golfers. Soon Michael noticed something valuable about the golfers. They were polite, friendly, focused, calculated & determined. They fascinate him & eventually they became his secret mentors.
His desires to become like them & playing golf with them grows. His believed in himself playing golf with them was soo big that he eventually decided to play golf with an imaginary golf ball & a stick. Weeks after doing that, he trespass the fense to practice on a real golf course after it closes. He tresspass & practice his golf skill everyday. No fear of been caught prevent him from achieving his goal.
One day, a man saw him play & to his amazement, Michael played very well showing his skills in precision & focus even though he is using a stick. The man give him an iron club. Someone else saw him play & Michael was given the whole set of golf clubs. Everyone wanted to play with him. Michael became a good golfer. This does stop him. He was not educated because his parents cannot afford to sent him to school. One of the man he played with offer to foot the bill for his education.
He worked hard on his education & received a scholarship to a university in South Africa. Michael destiny was shaped by the company he mixes. He has a bright future ahead of him now which initial seems doom for him.

Michael story has triggered positive reaction in me. Faced with all obstacles, Michael chose to become a victor & not a victim. By taking necessary steps, he was granted access to the company, knowledge & experience of those he admired.
What are you doing to acquire the knowledge you need to excel in your chosen field? Are you in any training for self development? Success is not a one hit wonders. It certainly not for the weak or the lazy. Success is for the bold, strong & brave. Do you have what it takes?
Every dreams worth chasing will involve hard work. It will be full of challenges & disappontment is inevitable. The future belongs to those who are actively doing something today in order to better their tomorrow. Now it is up to you.
